Who really knows, we may have many more senses that we are not aware of.
We are chemical and electrical beings. Everything about us operates on a chemical
and electrical basis. Even our thoughts, Loco believes, are made up of electrical
impulses, wavelengths, and frequencies that are far too advanced for modern
science. Of our five senses: sight, sound, taste, touch and smell, far more advances
have been made in the first two.
Through modern cameras, transmitters, and receivers man can see and hear what is
happening anywhere on earth and far into outer space. Electronics have come a
long way since the early days of large vacuum tubes, superheterodyne receivers,
and crude cathode ray picture tubes. There is some progress in extending the sense
of smell.
There are a few crude devices around that can imitate the smell of a few items on a
computer screen. At some point in our near future there will probably be a device
that will imitate the smell, touch, and taste of anything we see on a TV screen.
After the meal they moved to the sofa in the den. They sat side by side on the sofa
with Janet leaning gently against his chest.
As they listened to their favorite oldies, Rufus gently stroked and caressed Janet’s
neck and shoulder area. Every now and then he would kiss her gently. As time
passed, the kisses became regular, then, more regular and passionate, still, more
regular and passionate, releasing his embrace, he gently led her to the bedroom.
Later as they lay in each other’s arms totally spent, they told each other how much
they loved each other.
Relaxing in bed after making love, Rufus liked to express his political philosophy as
long as Janet would stay awake. Greed is one of the most energizing and
motivating forces in nature. It should be harnessed and kept under control, but
never should it be shut off completely. That is why socialism and communism will
always fail, because it shuts down and won’t reward greed and self-interest.
People are not fools; if they do more they will expect a bigger reward, otherwise
the slowest and laziest standard will become the norm. That is human nature.
